As you may have heard, to accommodate complications due to COVID-19 and to allow time to properly consider the new American Rescue Plan Act, the IRS has extended the 2021 tax deadline to May 17th, 2021.
If you have already submitted your documents to us, please be assured that we are working diligently on your returns and will contact you when they are completed and ready for your review. If you have not submitted your documents, we will file an extension for you. However, please submit all documents as soon as possible so that we can begin work due this year’s tax complexities.
Last year we learned that the newly modified, simplified tax code was anything but simple. This year has shown to be just as complicated as last year, if not more. Like everything else in 2020, tax planning is not status quo due to the uncertainties and complications that COVID-19, new tax legislation, financial recovery relief and post-election transition created. Needless to say, there are a lot of moving pieces behind the scenes. We wanted to take this opportunity to let you know we continue to manage these new changes and ensure you that you will continue to receive excellent service as the new deadline approaches.
